WhatsApp for Business is now finally released. The world’s biggest messenger with more than 1.3 billion users is now rolling out its enterprise version for Android worldwide. The application is already available in the U.S., Great Britain, Indonesia, Italy and Mexico. But Germany and its 40 million users are still waiting. WhatsApp’s announcement ended with these words: “This is just the beginning!” And we at WhatsBroadcast cant’ wait to see how it unfolds!
WhatsApp for Business: what you should know!
First, the current announcement concerns Germany only marginally. But this development will be important for Germany in the future. It is reasonable to believe that the current developments will expand to further countries, since the tests in India and Brazil went so well that the countries mentioned above now have officially access to WhatsApp for Business.
It might still take some time for Germany to have a WhatsApp for Business access as well. It is very likely that further announcements will follow in early May, just in time for the F8, Facebook’s traditional developer conference. But whether Germany will be part of the next list of countries getting access to WhatsApp for Business is not clear yet.Test our services for Free
How exactly does the WhatsApp for Business version really look like? Well, we’ve found pictures that clearly show that the business orientation is already very present. The German-speaking version for business also already seems to be in an advanced state. Yesterday Thorsten Schiefen, Manager of Digital and Communications of Phantasialand, spontaneously tested the German version with our editorial team.
Interesting enough, in the English announcement, a desktop client for WhatsApp for Business was mentioned, however in the German announcement it was not mentioned. Was that just an involuntary omission?
Verified Accounts, Business Profiles, Messaging Tools (quick replies, greeting messages including away messages), Messaging Statistics, WhatsApp Web for Desktop & Account Type – all these features were announced. And we believe all these features will be introduced bit by bit.
However, these features were only said to be available for Android so far. Nothing was annouced for iOS yet. This may also bring some justifiable doubts, whether there will be a version for iOS in the future at all…
WhatsApp for Business: What we think about it
“WhatsApp for Business shows that WhatsApp is now serious about supporting businesses. The App that is already being used by more than one billion users, will also allow millions of small business owners to benefit from its features. On the other hand, big and medium-sized enterprises for sure will require service providers such as WhatsBroadcast that offer additional support. For example, additional functionalities, European data security safeguarding and local support.”
Franz Buchenberger the CEO and founder of WhatsBroadcast regarding WhatsApp for Business.
As it recently has become known, more and more people are gaining interest in communicating with businesses via Chats and Messengers. At the same time, fewer and fewer customers are interested in contacting businesses via email or by phone.
Fact is: We are looking forward to the release of WhatsApp for Business and we are certain that many users and businesses will benefit from it.
WhatsBroadcast Features as the optimal addition to what WhatsApp for Business offers
Should you want to run a professional marketing management via WhatsApp (over 1.000 of WhatsBroadcast’s customers have already taken this route) you will need a professional software and other essential features for your business.
Considering how long it took Facebook, a billion-dollar company, to have a reasonably working business solution and considering how basic this solution is on Instagram to date, we must wait and see if or when we can fully enjoy these features on WhatsApp for Business as well.
